Hypnotherapy is a talking therapy that uses hypnosis to harness the power of the mind.
It works by using your imagination, values and views, to change the way you think, feel and act.
In a hypnotherapy session you imagine what it would be like if you felt differently, thought differently and acted differently.
In a session, you imagine what it would feel like to think, feel and act differently. You get to ask yourself: how would it be if I believed in myself, felt calm in new situations, was at ease in my body, was happy with myself?
Your mind creates its own unique answer, and your imagination helps you experience what that feels like.

Hypnosis is a natural state of deep focus and absorption. It’s a simple yet powerful way to influence feelings, thoughts and actions. In hypnosis your attention narrows onto a new sense of how things can change for the better, while everyday distractions fade into the background.
This focused state creates a response in the body and mind that lasts, making it easier for new ideas and changes to take hold.

Woman looking relaxed as she does self hypnosis
No. You remain aware and in control throughout. You can move, talk, and easily take yourself in and out of hypnosis once you’ve learnt how.
All hypnosis is essentially self-hypnosis. It can’t happen unless you want it to, and you can bring yourself out of it at any time.
With self-hypnosis, you learn to manage your thoughts, self-talk and beliefs so you can live a more effective, engaged and meaningful life.

Almost everyone can be hypnotised, although some people find it easier. It’s a skill that can be learnt and practised.
Results depend largely on your trust and confidence in your therapist. How deeply you go doesn’t matter as good results can happen even if it feels like you weren’t deeply hypnotised.

Yes.
Group programmes offer a practical, accessible way to experience the benefits of hypnotherapy.
Groups are a safe space to connect with others facing similar struggles, combining expert guidance with the support of people working toward the same goals. Groups stay small, so the experience remains personal, with a forum to share challenges, experiences and insights along the way. You’ll use hypnosis and other tried and tested tools to build a more resilient approach to life.
Over six sessions, you’ll develop skills to change how you approach life. You’ll be learning through simple, practical exercises designed to leave you feeling more confident in yourself. Since everyone is unique, you’ll be guided to personalise and apply each technique to your own situation as you progress.

Appointments are available in person and online . You decide what works best for your busy, pressured life. Online sessions are private and one-to-one using Zoom and arranged in advance at a time that suits you.
Online therapy is ideal for busy lives, commuters, parents, and anyone working full-time or unsociable hours who doesn’t have the time or energy for hours of travel.
If you live in a remote area, or have chronic illnesses, disabilities or social anxiety that make in-person interaction challenging, online therapy brings the support you need into the comfort and security of your own home.
Research shows online therapy is just as effective as seeing a therapist in person.[1]
