Imagination for wellbeing

How imagination is your secret ingredient for calming worry and overwhelm (podcast)

3 November 2026

When you’re caught in the grips of worry and overwhelm, it can be hard to see a way forward.  The constant anxiety can start to shrink your life.  But did you know everyone possesses a powerful tool to hel them move forward.  That tool is your imagination.

Children understand the power of their imagination and can harness it effortlessly.  That’s an ability that tends to get lost lost as you age.  Change is possible at any age, but most adults have loss sight of their ability to access their imagination’s power for change.

Hypnotherapy and the power of imagination

In this podcast we discuss how hypnotherapy combined with cognitive behavioural therapy can help you use the power of your mind to feel calmer, build confidence and reconnect with the things that matter to you.

Imagination quote

I was interviewed by Joanna Ingram of the Soulful Catalyst podcast.  There’s something about listening to a podcast that gives you a pause in your day and the chance to think about things differently. I’m a big fan of podcasts and the chance to deep dive into someone else’s experience.

We discuss how the habits you keep trying to stop aren’t what’s holding you back and stopping you from being the person you want to be at home, at work, as a parent and in your relationships

We also talk about why young people seem to becoming more anxious and how so many of us live in a society that simply doesn’t fit the way our brains developed.

Then we explore what goes beneath the surface for all of us and how what you see from the top is rarely what needs to change.

In this episode we delve into:

Guest on Soulful Catalyst podcast

Why imagination is our most powerful tool

How hypnosis helps you to rediscover how to use it and how it lets you glimpse a version of yourself beyond the anxiety.

Food, eating and comfort

How we try so hard to change what we eat when working on the eating behaviour alone so often misses what’s driving it.

The habits that quietly keep anxiety going

We spend a lot of time and effort trying to control anxiety.  Very often the things we’re doing from body scanning to late-night scrolling and exhaustion often are what’s keeping the anxiety going.

Why teenagers are struggling right now

How there’s so many things right now that have made life for teenagers harder.  Social media and AI means they experience using their imagination less so become more stuck.  And what you as parents can do to support them and help them to become more resilient.

Life after weight loss medication

How weight loss medication has changed lives for many people and how you can help with some new research I’m exploring around GLP-1s

Please tune into this episode if you’re curious about how worry and overwhelm impact you or the people you care about, and you’re ready to believe that change is possible at any age.
